Either way you have to try and find a different job, which isn't free, costless, or painless. The guy who wrote the code to automate away his job is going to have a lot easier time finding a new job than the guy who had no idea that it was even possible to automate that job and got completely blindsided. In fact any sane company will keep the guy who did the automation and have him apply his skills to automating away other departments. |
