Here's my theory, and I think it's quite obvious: Zuckerberg, as someone with a reported $74B in net worth[0], is actually a Republican, and strongly supports Trump and is pushing for his reelection. All the apologizes and damage control is just virtue-signalling to appease the entertainment industry (by which I include the news industry), which relies on and trusts Facebook for their very existence.
