They have vastly more PCIe lanes, which makes them exceptionally suitable for high-density GPU nodes (or, similarly, high-density NVMe storage nodes). AMD also offers superior value for the money on a per-CPU basis, even after discounts (which both Intel and AMD offer generously). This makes them exceptionally suitable for high-memory nodes. |
