So how does this fit into their "no commercials" policy?

Jokes aside, I don't want to see too much of this at future consumer shows.

isn't their "no commercials" policy just about serving other people's ads? I don't see how that's relevant here
There was some talk about netflix advertising their other shows between streams but once people threatened to cancel their subscriptions they scraped that.

Don't worry, it only works if you don't expect it, else you get desensitized.

A world where this is the sole form of advertising is far, far better than the one with TV ads and billboards which we currently got. Why? Its informative, thought-provoking / stimulates critical thinking, its a form of humor, and it is very much optional / choice.

The only bad thing you get with Netflix, is DRM, and some heavy internal profiling to keep you hooked. But the latter is arguably a good thing.
