The bigger threat than Facebook is Whatsapp. India is Whatsapp's biggest market and while sometimes people point out the fake news on Facebook, the fake WhatsApp forwards go completely unchecked. There can be hopes that Facebook will manage to curb fake news in the future, but the senseless rumors and propaganda will continue on Whatsapp. |
