I think by the time you get into that sort of position, things will change again anyway -- I'm not sure I would focus on any specific tech, but rather study the fundamentals, learn how to learn, take in things besides software; math, etc.

When the opportunities present themselves, be prepared to work hard and learn quickly. How you go about things is more important than what exactly you know most of the time.
