This happens all the time whenever there is a "craze". When marijuana companies were the craze, scammers who peddle stocks that sounded similar to high flying stocks. It happens during big IPOs. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-02-08/mistaken-... It's pretty much a non-story but bloomberg has to make money with clickbait. |
