"The phone is brilliant, but the market went elsewhere with it's carrier locked subsidised junk models. That's just a market reality, like it or not. Google tried to "do the right thing" and the market went somewhere else." Carrier locked, subsidized junk models are the norm, not the exception. Google tried to take that in a direction similar to what Apple did with the iPhone but without the same effort behind that. To say that the market shifted away from that ignores the way cell phones have always been sold in the US. |
