In this case the author of the article made an incorrect assumption. There was an imbalance of power. Journalists need access to politicians to do their jobs. They need professional relationships, they need to be at meetings and press events. To an extent they have to humour politicians, and Fallon apparently mistook that for an invitation to kiss her. The pendulum needs to swing a bit further yet I'm afraid. |
