The issue is that there is no current alternative to Patreon’s ease of use for gathering funds from a large number of fans, and a Patreon competitor can’t be built overnight. (Kickstarter’s Drip is not public yet) Of course, being a pseudo-monopoly allows you to test the limits of monetization. |
