Both Verizon and AT&T executives publicly stated that they wanted to charge sites like Google and Yahoo in order for the ISPs customers to be allowed to access those sites. Stopping them from doing that was one of the reasons that first Congress and then the FCC took up the net neutrality issue about 10 years ago. |
