You wouldn’t be able to type this comment on your computer (and neither would I) were it not for financial markets to organize funding for the company that produces your device. Or you might not have gotten a mortgage to buy your home. Financial markets serve a hugely important social function of allocating capital (intermediating between people who have money and those who need money). |
