I'm not necessarily replying to why it's better, but I just need to say this about DDG. Duckduckgo's biggest issue is its name. It does not instill trust, and it does not sound serious. We need to change this name! DDG has a great user experience, and it looks great!

Google and Yahoo!, on the other hand, are very serious, business-like names.
