the same occurred to me as well thats why i qualified by saying that education divided itself into secular and religious education - as i read in this wikipedia page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catholic_school --currently the church operates the worlds largest non-governmental school system-- so it would be very hard to separate catholic church and education
