I was a user from 2000. The first question new users would ask was "where's the web browser". You basically had to run two computers, one with Linux/Windows and one Plan9.
The next question was "what are the keyboard shortcuts" and the answer was "escape toggles text entry in the shell, research says using the mouse is quicker".
