On the other hand, smartphones in cars are very useful for navigation, with real-time feeds of traffic congestion, voice control, and so on. I know you can do this with a dedicated navigation system, but I've never used one as good as what's built into every modern Android device. You just have to be disciplined enough to use it only for that purpose while driving. I know what you mean though. Yesterday I was stuck behind a car doing 50 on a 70 road, and as I overtook I saw the driver was busy fiddling with their phone while they should have been paying attention to the road. Especially dangerous at that speed of traffic! Thankfully, I've found this sort of behaviour to be a rare occurrence. |
