Many gaming and entertainment communities are springing up to offer sense of collective identity and belonging. Gaming, has large, relatively recent communities in Pokemon Go and DOTA 2. Similarly, the resurgence of the Star Wars franchise means a new generation of fans coming online. I have not noticed that these entertainment focused communities result in service, though they are also not political. |
