Capacitor electrolytics. Air bubbles in silicon, thermal expansion, and a zillion day night cycles. Humidity and dust enter, contributing to occasional momentary shorts. Oxidation anywhere you have electromechanical connections. Magnetic stresses on any coil, any rectifier. |
