I'd add that the vitriol against Equifax partly arises from everyone's distaste of CRA's (credit reporting agencies) owing to their magic 8 ball scheme of ranking credit. There may also be some reserved anti-sub-prime sentiment that lingers from 2008. At the very least, I hope this will cause lenders and credit reporters to take data security very seriously. |
