He isn't considered "real" critical theory, but a lot of the most interesting elements in postmodernism -- questions about language, identity, randomness, representation vs. reality -- are present in Borges, whose work is the opposite of exhausting. If you haven't read him, I'd recommend the "Labyrinths" collection as a great place to start. |
