Based on this note[1], you can also disable with: Preferences > Pointer > CMD+Click Opens Filename/URL

This throws out behaviour that some people find desireable (for example https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=15288935 ), whereas it is possible to keep that behaviour without the privacy violations.
