The structure seems to be relying on bolts, plastic sheeting and foam for all of its strength. Even bolts are not usually considered structural elements, since the sheer strength of bolts is negligible - much less plastic or foam. The whole idea of geodesic domes is that the trianglular sides distribute load more efficiently. In this case, there's nothing that could be described as load bearing. It's a semi-rigid tent that will disintegrate in a strong breeze. |
