Well, I started before repos were a thing and even before source revision control was invented. I pestered a professor with questions about the assembly language that I got the CDC 3500 fortran compiler to cough up. Annoyed, he pawned me off to a professor who ultimately became my advisor and gave me my first job the summer after my freshman year.
