Windows 10 now uses the first person plural ("we") to talk to users, which I always thought was an interesting choice. Things like:

  We're setting things up for you
  We can't sign into your account
Etc...

This might be out of date, but I think the installer still uses "I" - "I'm happy to see you" and such.

If you imagine it in a creepy voice it completely changes the tone of an install.

It comes across creepy to me and people around me all by itself. Maybe we played to much Portal.
Consistent with the software’s role as an agent and voice of the firm creating it.
