According to the "Methodology" section, the data is based on: > May 2016 Metropolitan and Nonmetropolitan Area Occupational Employment and Wage Estimates from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), U.S. Department of Labor. Unless otherwise specified, the salary is the “Mean Annual Wage” column of the data set. This data also has a 75th percentile and 90th percentile column. It would be cool if the visualization worked with those parts of the data too, because the salary gap between the 50th percentile and the 90th percentile can sometimes be huge. |
