This is an example of the prisoner's dilemma (Game theory). The optimal strategy for both of you is to compromise on a solution. The best strategy for each individual is to tell the other person to quit. So if your partner is insisting on you quitting the he has the upper hand. Now maybe you explain the problem in terms of game theory to your partner. |
