Isn't A.I. already 'real'? I use Amazon's & Netflix's recomendation systems everyday?

I guess this comment means you consider making good recomendations a simple problem? Or maybe not real A.I?
I think he means those problems are real AI, and current solutions stink.
That's one of the problems with discussing AI and with whom you discuss it with: it can cover relatively simple stuff like recommendation engines all the way up to the stuff that Boston Dynamics works on. Both have completely different trajectories in terms of what they are capable of.
Agreed! I have a hard time knowing what language to use. I think I'm going to try to use the term machine learning more. It seems many people use A.I. to refer to a self aware/skynet level of intelligence.
