I think that the most important missing feature is number of commits of the fork

number of commits on the fork is irrelevant to the stated coal "find MAINTAINED forks..." if you had 400 extra commits, but they were 6 years ago i don't care. it's very unlikely to be a "maintained" fork.
What you'd want is consistency over time together with the most recent commit.
