That mostly is a historical reason. The style is set when exceptions support in c++ is shitty. Turns out you can handling error like go in c++, or I should say go just used the proven working way of error handling in google c++. Complex templates are just a type of complexity, like any complexity, avoiding them is always the right thing to do. |
