I also thought this was pretty rich. First broadly attack Google's income, then complain about discrimination when Google ranks your paywalled content lower. Though I trust Google to make a decision based on user satisfaction, not unrelated meta-politics like this: Any website with a paywall should (and probably is) painted with the same brush. WSJ would benefit from pushing the angle that "Google punished us for doing critical journalism". |
