No attempt was made to measure the number of productive dropouts. I.e. authors bias was "count people with a degree." Hypothesis, gedanken experiment. Award all hackers who are able to support themselves, not necessarily as developers, but having to do with computers, with a CS degree. The curve fills right in. |
