You can only DD a bootable ISO to USB if it's been created as a hybrid ISO image. The syslinux package includes an isohybrid[1] command to convert existing non-compliant ISOs to hybrid ISOs that can boot via USB. --- [1] https://help.ubuntu.com/community/mkusb/isohybrid |
