As this isn't an official app, I'm hesitant in logging into it :(

It does not require you to login at all. Currently it only displays exchange data with live updates.

The fact it isn't open source testifies against its security? There's no guarantee that the code on GitHub would be the same at App Store. However I feel pretty secure since these apps are carefully reviewed by Apple.
