This is not accidental. Not even close! This story, if true, details a person who profiled this malware and correctly logged the network requests it was making and then correctly identified a fundamental vulnerability in the software. This is not an accident at all - it is rather a profile in supreme competence. We should recognize it as such. |

The author registered the domain name without knowing what would happen (the virus might as well have wiped the entire disk) and was surprised to see that he had activated a kill switch. That's the accidental part.
