I also graduated in 2012 and my school was the only one in the county (that I knew of) that offered any sort of programming class. It was taught in Visual Basic! Previously it had been taught in C++, but the teacher thought that C++ wasn't used any more! When I got to college, I was quite surprised to learn how common AP CS was. I was especially blown away by a classmate who took 4 years of CS in high school (at Stuyvesant IIRC). |
