The reported statistics on domestic violence are lower in India than in the US. I understand that "reported" isn't necessarily relative to actual.

When spousal rape is legal, there probably isn't anyone to "report" domestic violence to.

I wasn't trying to portray India as a great example. I wasn't comfortable though, with the US being portrayed as one either.
