I'd argue that an irreconcilable world view - or at least one that you are not capable of reconciling - is cognitive dissonance. If you CAN reconcile it, you don't have congnitive dissonance. But most people don't get that far. |

It's enough to have a reasonable justification to say that it can be reconciled. There's no need to force the person to do that reconciliation.
