Andrew Zonenberg has a whole list of open projects for FPGAs on his wiki: https://github.com/azonenberg/openfpga/wiki There has been a lot of exciting work in the same repo for Silego lines and general foundations for Open Source FPGA toolchains for many of the types out there.
