- FLAVOR: Ubuntu Desktop - HEADLINE: On installation, handle existing UEFI partitions more intelligently, or at least better equip the installer to remedy related problems - DESCRIPTION: Realistically, I'm going to be installing Ubuntu Desktop on a modern commodity machine that previously had Windows installed. This will mean there's an existing UEFI partition that the installer should be able to take care of / co-opt / replace. It doesn't. The tools necessary for editing EFI records aren't on the installer desktop out of the box. Sorting this out myself becomes a colossal time-wasting pain. |
