If this goes though, can we sure car, knife, and anything else manufacturers? They sometimes use shady lots to sell cars, don't tell me everything about the car, and I can run someone over. Many people die each year from cars! This case might be precident...

Suing (and sometimes winning, more to the point) manufacturers and retailers who profit from unlawful acts of their customers knowingly, and often with reason that they should have known, is already possible under the law.

More than 20 years ago when I worked at Radio Shack the employee orientation included a piece on this.

If they make purpose specific tools, then yes.

Someone selling "Rape-o-matic sleeping pills" for example, will go to jail, even if they raped no one.
