| I'm from the camp the singularity is a continuous process. When you travel away from the Sun, the light from it gets dimmer and dimmer and dimmer, until it becomes single photons appearing with more and more delays but on average energy of 'dimmer' light. Fly towards the Sun and there isn't a sudden cutoff point where it goes from dark to bright, or bright to incandescent, it's a continual increase. Same with life, lots of people born, lots of intensity around birth and infant children and parents and education, intensity diminishes with age as people spread out and dissipate, everyone's looking back in at the source of new life while getting further and further from it and more and more separated from each other and lower energy levels and less and less 'happening'. Singularity? Moving towards the intensity with technological development and more intricate, faster, and sheerly more connectivity all over, more encoding of ideas into information patterns. Unless you want to imagine it like flying towards the Sun becoming falling towards the Sun, becoming a specific point where everyone burns up and dies. :/ |
