Medium had a beta for subscriptions + monetization tools last year for individual publishers. A few examples:
http://www.poynter.org/2016/facing-shutdowns-and-stagnating-... The advertising part of the model may have been removed, but I think there's still value in enabling publishers with tools to sell their content directly to readers. |
