What about vitamin D which comes from sun exposure? Low levels of vitamin D can make you feel down

The studies are pretty inconclusive about that.

I tend to think this is a key factor. When I meditate for 10 minutes outside in the sun, over time my energy levels are noticeably higher, mood more stable, etc. Don't forget vitaman D is also essential in calcium asorbtion.
