CS != Programming. Honestly. No, really. Personal data points, third party anecdotes even less so, are not a reliable way to extrapolate how CS (or any major) is taught outside of the MITs of the world. Your experiences, shockingly, are one among many, and remain yours. That said ... The culture thing is spot on. That is what getting an education is all about. |
