Sure, and we should. But it's the difference between me saying "I did this cool thing, check it out." and "I did this thing, and it's way better that what you've been doing." The former statement is likely to elicit praise and appreciation; the latter is likely to prompt a challenge to your assertion. It's just human nature. |
