The entire Southern Hemisphere gets light on December mornings. The summer solstice for the Southern Hemisphere is during December.

Yes, I realise that - just interested in their locality to greater degree of exactitude than which hemisphere. As it happens it looks like they're using artificial light.
Equitorial regions also have light on December mornings, given that their days don't vary much throughout the year.
