I don't think anyone has any issue with having to physically use a marker on a whiteboard during an interview. What else would you use for a system design question? What is insane is expecting a candidate to be able to navigate a million state modification and off-by-one gotchas using only a marker and their short-term memory. |

I have friends whose RSI is sufficiently bad that it could be an issue.
