First I laughed, then I thought. Perhaps one could build something akin to Google Page Speed, but instead it provides a measure of green-friendliness? It detects expensive animations, overloading of javascript, etc. I reckon the React community wouldn't like it much though... The question is - if the whole internet uses 10% less power, does it make enough of a difference given its growth rate? |
