My dad and my uncle are in their 60's. They said they were told one of the things that showed people behind the Iron Curtain weren't free is that they had to carry papers/ID with them at all time. My uncle is super conservative, but he is still totally against voter ID laws because at one point it was a point of pride that American's didn't have to carry papers. The same people who held that as a point of pride in the 50's and 60's are now the people who are fighting for mandatory voter ID laws. I honestly believe that if anybody is committing voter fraud, it isn't the people that the republicans are targeting with these voter ID laws. |
