Much queries per second is fine, but I care about latency. Unless you're in AWS, it'll be hard to beat AWS RDS on that count.

What about the legal issues around holding your data in a country/jurisdiction other than your own? I appreciate this is the same issue with AWS, Azure etc. Given recent Brexit and Trump disasters, is the location 'safe'.
